The Surrey Horticultural Federation Inter-Club Quiz and AGM

Please let us know if your club would like to take part in the SURREY HORTICULTURAL FEDERATION INTER-CLUB QUIZ & A.G.M on SUNDAY 2nd November 2025 at 2.30pm at East Horsley Village Hall, Kingston Avenue, East Horsley, Leatherhead, Surrey, KT24 6QT.

Please recruit three club members for a team table, as before.

We hope to have a very quick AGM (Agenda follows) and then on with the Quiz.

Our quiz is like ‘Who wants to be a Millionaire’ where four answers to each question are given – all you have to do is pick the correct one!  You can guess if you are not sure and teams can confer, so if one of the members knows the answer you can all choose the same and pick up maximum points.  Team supporters and visitors from any club are welcome – there are cash prizes for teams and prizes for the best answers from the audience!

We do need to know how many clubs can come, so please conscript three members of your club for a team, and confirm your club’s entry to the Surrey Horticultural Federation’s Membership Secretary, Kathy Deaville (kathy.deaville@gmail.com) a.s.a.p. please.  Thank you.

SURREY HORTICULTURAL FEDERATION – 49th A.G.M. on Sunday 2nd November 2025 at East Horsley Village Hall at 2.30pm

This event will be held at East Horsley Village Hall, Kingston Avenue, East Horsley, Leatherhead, Surrey, KT24 6QT – Start time is 2.30pm (as before).

Directions: If coming from the roundabout on the A3 south of Wisley Gardens, keep on the road towards West Horsley and when approaching East Horsley look for the railway bridge.  Go under it, then first right into Kingston Avenue – the hall will be found at the end of this road.  From the Guildford/Dorking A25, keep on through West Horsley until you see the railway bridge, then turn left.

This hall has good, free, level parking and is used by both the NVS and NAFAS for their events.

All the Gardening Clubs and Horticultural Societies that are part of the Surrey Horticultural Federation are invited to this friendly quiz.

Our quiz is fun and relaxed, no one has to stand up or read out their answers.  Teams can confer and all answers are filled in on quiz sheets.  Our Quizmaster, John Negus reads out the questions and gives a multiple choice of answers for participants to choose from.  Three representatives from each club form a team.  Teams sit together; each member has their own sheet of paper to record their answers.  Teams are encouraged to confer and can all give the same answers or each can choose different answers if they don’t know the answer.  Team supporters and visitors from any club are welcome.  There are cash prizes for teams and prizes for the best answers from the audience!  It’s a relaxed and fun afternoon – we hope you’ll join us.
