Join us for an informative talk on renown plantsman and garden designer Piet Oudolf. Oudolf’s art is designing plantings of (mostly) perennials which look just as good frosted and brown in winter as they might in high summer. Colour is not his main interest, rather it is texture. With this perspective, he creates commercial and domestic gardens that are simply divine to look on. We will explore his work, including local examples found at RHS Wisley and Bury Court.
Julie Verity studied Horticulture and Plant Physiology at University, gaining two degrees (BSC, PhD), and doing post-doctoral work in New Zealand. After a successful career in business and executive education, she has returned to her love of plants through painting and gives fascinating talks
about gardens and gardening heroes. She often lectures at The Guildford Institute.
This talk will be held in-person at The Winn Hall, Dunsfold. DHHS members go free and guests are £5 each, payable at the door. Tea, coffee and cake will be served.
