Broughton Castle is a medieval moated manor house and garden set in parkland. The planting design of the garden is predominantly 20th Century, comprising of shrub and herbaceous borders. The walled garden has box-edged rose beds and mixed borders. The ruined walls of the medieval castle kitchens provide shelter for the beautiful Ladies Garden, set out with fleur-de-lys box hedges, roses and climbers. Members can also go round the castle on a ‘free-flow’ basis.
Sandhurst & District Gardening Club will leave Sandhurst at 10.15 am, stopping en route at a garden Centre, where members may buy lunch if they wish, arriving at the castle for the opening time of 2.00 pm. We will leave for home at approx. 5.00 pm.
